Alfred Park Accommodation was built in 1848 for a Tall Ship Captain and his 14 children!
Today, the building caters for travelers who want excellent accommodation at budget prices. But don't be
fooled by the Heritage facade, the new block at the rear features modern motel style accommodation and the newly renovated communal bathrooms will be ready for early November!
Whether you are looking for basic dormitory style accommodation or private rooms with all the modern facilities, we can provide just what you want. All rooms, including the dorms, have colour TV, fridge, fan, wash basinand now ALL ROOMS are air conditioned (not many hostels can boast this). There is also a large guest kitchen, courtyard, computer area AND a secure carpark.
We have just completed renovation of the communal bathroom block as well. Looks great and all toilets and showers are completely private!

At Alfred Park we pride ourselves on having fresh clean linen, towels, doonas and mattresses. Linen is delivered daily from our professional linen service (Cleana Services) who provide airlines and hotels with top quality linen services.
We are renovating even more bathrooms this year. They look more like a 5 star hotel!
We have now completed our FIRE SERVICES upgrading with new external drenchers and an internal Hydrant, Occupant Warning System and more. We can now claim to have the safest and best FIRE SERVICES of any hostel of this type in SYDNEY. Check your hostel has up to date Annual Fire Safety Certification.
OUR STAFF:
The team is made up of great young enthusiastic locals Brigitte and Emily as well as owners Valero and Elisa who will be only too happy to help you enjoy your stay with us.
INTERNET/WIFI:
We have 4 high performance terminals, together with WiFi throughout the whole building. The terminals are genuine internet cafe type with all the popular software, headsets, webcams and 19" monitors. Our new computers have fast processors and are hooked up to our super fast ADSL! You'll also be able to burn CDs and upload photos to your site, etc.
We have also extended the wireless capability, so all rooms get good connectivity. GUARANTEED!
*Some free internet is given to all guests on check-in. All guests will receive a pin code for free internet access for a limited time. Thence rates are as low as $1.50/hour on our fast kiosk terminals(casual) or as little as 12 cents per hour WiFi!
Air Conditioning a must:
The big hotels downtown have a long way to go to become truely green. We don't run big, noisy, energy hungry air conditioners that run all day whether you're in or not. We run individual split system, energy efficient units. We are now the only hostel to provide air-conditioning to all private rooms as well as ALL dorms! And there's no extra charge either! Couple this with FREE internet*(unlimited downloads including wireless) and you'll start to feel guilty!
All four rooms on the attic level have now been renovated with new carpet, paint and air conditioning. Room 41 in particular is a true Doll's House (It's a female only dorm!)

At the Alfred , we can offer two separate courtyards (undercover and heated), a huge, well equiped guest kitchen, cosy lounge and plenty of off-street parking too. The BBQ area is great for socialising or just cooking up a storm! We are even rehabilitating the original basement for games, TV and lounge. The laundry is fully equiped with modern washing machines and dryers .
Travel Service:
Ask us about tours, Blue Mountains, skydiving, surfing lessons, quad safaris and more. We have reciprocal arrangements in place with many providers and can guarantee you the best prices.
FREE Airport Pick Up. We provide FREE AIRPORT pick up when staying 3 nights or more. (NOTE: Excludes groups of 5 or more guests where a small charge may apply). We do charge a small fee for airport drop-off. Please contact us for group bookings. Free pick up applies from 730am to 900pm. After 9pm a small fee may apply. Free pick up does not apply with special dorm rates of $19/bed/night or less. But please call our TOLL free number on arrival for instructions 1800218556.
SCHOOL GROUPS:
Alfred Park Accommodation can cater for large groups. In fact a private school from Albury, NSW, was the biggest group booking at 92 Students and 7 Teachers for 4 nights including breakfast!
We have been looking after large school groups on Sydney Excursions for many years and have all your school needs for a comfortable stay. We are conveniently located, so all your Sydney Sites, Museums, Concert Halls, are within minutes of your accommodation.
All our rooms are large, comfortable and bright, some with views across beautiful Prince Alfred Park with the City of Sydney as the back-drop.
